The WordPress Importer is a plugin that will import posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, tags and more from a WordPress export file.  This is a file that you can easily create under Tools and Export. This will create a file that contains all your posts, pages, etc and then you can import it if you ever move your site to a new web host.

The WordPress Importer will import the following content from a WordPress export file:

  • Posts, pages and other custom post types

  • Custom fields and post meta
